Cedric al'Kellis al'Gera, Lord - (SED-rik al-KEL-iss al-ger-RAH)
Nationality: Astorian
Race: Hound
Political Alliance: Anti-treaty
Status: Alive
Lord Cedric is the current head of the Astorian Mage Academy. He is very against the treaty with Britain for political, as well as personal, reasons. His xenophobia against Britain is well known within the Astorian court and is believed by many to stem from a series of events that happened in the 1970's between him and a certain member of RCSI. He is originally of House al'Kellis and is related to Queen Raewyn by marriage (he's her brother-in-law).

Gadel al'Gera, Lady - (ga-DEL al-ger-RAH)
Nationality: Astorian
Race: Hound
Political Alliance: Pro-treaty
Status: Alive
Lady Gadel is a young mage who has just recently graduated from the Mage Academy. When RCSI requested a mage as part of the trade agreement treaty Gadel was the one appointed to journey to Britain. While friendly to those her rank and up, she has a tendency to be a little aloof around others. Her closest friend seems to be a young woman named Wynnie (Wynnifred Laisah) though rumors at court hint at something more than friendship between the two women. Gadel is a distant relative of Queen Raewyn and is second cousins with Raewyn's great granddaughter.

Raewyn al'Melis al'Gera, Queen - (RAY-win al-MEL-iss al-ger-RAH)
Nationality: Astorian
Race: Hound
Political Alliance: Pro-treaty
Status: Alive
Raewyn is the current Queen of Astoria. While willing to set up a trade treaty with RCSI, she is not fond of the agency nor its conditions, especially those in regard to Astoria's policy towards outsiders. She has been known to refer to Queen Moraine of Britain as a "soft hearted, weak willed twit." Concern for the decline of magic in Astoria has lead Her Majesty to put aside personal feelings and open contact with Britain, though her motives may turn out to be more personal that RCSI would like. Originally of House al'Mellis, she married into the Royal House of al'Gera as a political tie.

Rashanna al'Melis al'Gera, Lady - (rah-SHA-na al-MEL-iss al-ger-RAH)
Nationality: Astorian
Race: Hound
Political Alliance: Pro-treaty
Status: Alive
Rashanna is the assistant head of the Astorian Mage Academy. A social climber, she's been engaged in an ongoing political game against Lord Cedric for a number of years. An aggressive woman, her actions leave many of the Astorian court wondering if her only reason for supporting the treaty is because Lord Cedric does not. Originally of House al'Mellis, she married into the Royal House of al'Gera as a political tie, only to have her husband die from unknown causes soon after their union.

Saeran Midaugh, Lord - (seer-RAN MI-dawg)
Nationality: Astorian
Race: Hound
Political Alliance: Pro-treaty
Status: Alive
Lord Midaugh is one of the main supporters of the treaty between Britain and Astoria. House Midaugh is considered a very minor house in the Astorian court due to the members having limited abilities with magic. Concerned for the survival of his House, Lord Saeran was willing to agree to various terms set down by RCSI in the hopes of securing import rights. He has since come to see the current British ambassador (Lord James Gerrig) as a friend and enjoys being around the agents of RCSI, who he sees as "an amusing, fiery lot."

Wynnifred Laisah - (WIN-ih-fred la-ISS-ah)
Nationality: Astorian
Race: Hound
Political Alliance: Anti-treaty
Status: Alive
Wynnifred is a young mage who is currently enrolled in the Mage Academy. While a member of a minor noble house, Wynnie was born a peasant. At the age of seven she was taken from her parents and adopted by House Laisah when she started to show a talent for magic. The practice is quite common in Astoria, the reasoning being that non-nobles who show a talent for magic, no matter how small, must be the result of a dalliance outside of marriage. Because of her heritage, Wynnie is not welcome by many of the young ladies at court. A quiet, withdrawn woman, Wynnie is devoted to Gadel al'Gera and is deeply upset by the idea of her close friend leaving for Britain. She's also worried about what will happen to her once Gadel leaves. Rumors at court hint at something more than friendship between the two women.
